Recent Shows

My role for the shows listed below was primarily as Video Editor. Additionally, I would Ingest, Backup, Colour Grade, Master, Deliver, Archive each of these prime time shows in a fast turnaround environment. In many cases, I also did camera and FX/Graphics because of the fast turnaround pace and the need for bullet-proof and indestructible crash-proof redundant systems.

Multicamera Recording - the 'Van'

I Built, Designed every aspect, Terminated every strand of copper and wrote much of the software.

Recording and monitoring for up to 12 camera inputs, each input is independently backed-up 3 more times. The default configuration can be easily modified to suit almost any purpose. There's a 10 channel video mixer, 72 by 72 SDI routing switcher. Decent monitoring of all vision and audio signals.

During the ABC’s transition to tapeless digital recording, there were a handful of Apple, Adobe and EVS engineers working together for, and with the ABC.

‘The van’ recorded the ABC’s flagship programs from the basement carpark.
"The Gruen Transfer" (Wil Anderson, Russel Howcroft, Todd Sampson)

A copy of recordings from the van were delivered on SSD’s to the edit suites on the 6th floor, each time successfully and faster than the competing trio of Apple/Adobe/EVS engineers. This went on for a period of two years, until the in-house system was believed to be reliable enough.
